As a result, he was selected by senior management to be an integral part of our set-up in Govan, Scotland, in 2014, and assisted in establishing our presence here, laying the foundations for many years to follow. His knowledge and experience were vital in the mobilisation of our operations in this part of the UK. Since then, Andy has filled several roles for the business successfully, including managing our operations on the IOW, and most recently, as Contracts Manager for our Commercial Scaffolding Division in the South.

Steve has been keeping us all safe since 2021 when he joined the business, and excels in inspections, method statements and risk assessments, accident investigations and anything else that makes sure our employees can go home safely at night after a day’s work. Steve gained his NEBOSH construction with credit, and is a valuable asset to the company.

Andy Hurll

Commercial Manager

Andy started his SCA journey way back in 2004, and is currently one of the longest serving members of staff. His employment began shortly after completing a University degree studying Economics at Bath, but was not quite sure how best to put it to use. The idea of becoming involved in a family-run business that allowed for personal growth, being part of a close-knit team, and putting some business acumen in to practice appealed to him and that’s how it all began, and he hasn’t looked back since! Fulfilling roles in marketing, accounting and a whole host of others eventually led to promotion to Commercial Manager, and he carries out this role admirably and diligently. Andy is a keen athlete and has been seen recently running half-marathons and raising money for chosen charities, not to mention the odd game of Vets football!

Kirstine Johnson

Finance Manager

Kirstine joined the business in February 2021 assuming control of the Finance Department and Administrative team. Kirstine had previously worked for a HVAC company before relocating to Dorset from Buckinghamshire, and is a full member of the Association of Accounting Technicians. Outside of work Kirstine enjoys spending time with her husband and two dogs, enjoying walks and the occasional trip to the pub. Kirstine also enjoys her sport and likes to watch football, motor racing and the darts.

Chelsea Townley

Contracts Controller

Since joining the SCA Group in 2017 in an administrative role for the Commercial Scaffolding Division, Chelsea has been on quite a journey of progression as this department of the business flourished over recent years. Chelsea will tell you that she knew nothing about scaffolding when her employment with us commenced, but we don’t believe that is true, especially considering the hugely important position that she fills for us now!
Chelsea has thrown herself headfirst in to an array of different roles during her time with us, from marketing and purchasing, through to credit control and estimating, and succeeded at them all. She now proudly operates as Contracts Controller for the division, and we would be lost without her!
Her role now involves all aspects of managing our Commercial Contract from site visits to logistics, transport and labour controls. She thoroughly enjoys her role, and the close contact with suppliers, customers and our scaffolders, but she does tell us that she prefers staying on the ground rather than 10 lifts up!
