HMS Westminster - Bridge Screen Painting

The work involved surface preparation and painting of HMS Westminster front bridge screen. The work was carried out using rope access technicians.
The work involved carrying out surface preparation to remove isolated corrosion areas back to the surface substrate, feathering back all edges to sound coatings leaving a surface standard ST3 in line with ISO 8501-1.

All remaining areas of sound and adhering coatings were mechanically abraded and cleaned to leave a suitable surface for the new coatings to be applied. The areas prepared back to the surface substrate received 2 coats of primer. The bridge screen had a full coat of undercoat applied, followed by the application of a gloss finish coat.  All paint was supplied by the ships store
