The Safety Champion Award for February ’24 has been presented to Ross Martin as recognition of his attention to detail and diligent attitude to the health and safety of himself and others.

Ross took the time to report a damaged fixed handrail in the dock bottom at the Scotstoun site. The weld on the rail had snapped, exposing a potential fall from height. He used SCA’s bespoke Connecteam app and reported the issue immediately to his SHE Team.

The potentially hazardous issue was then resolved by site services thanks to his swift actions, and to the report being filtered efficiently to the health and safety team.

Ross is one of our Shrink-wrap Chargehands and has always been a safety conscious individual. Well Done, Ross!
